week 5 connector

Melinda is an outcast and doesn't have any friends, how does she in a way prevent herself from having friends?

Melinda says she has two sides to her one that wants to go and have fun and the other who thinks the world is dangerous and thinks you need to be cautious. How can you relate to this?

In this book Melinda went from being in middle school and having a great group of friends to being in high school and having that group of friends kind of break up and not like her. Does this happen often in society? Why/why not?

  1. She prevents herself to have no friends because she shuts herself out from everyone. She won't dare invite them in and when she tried, the one she thought was her friend, basically put her down even further. I don't really relate to the part where Melinda has a side where she wants to have fun and another where she thinks the world is a dangerous place because I think that if you don't take risks, how will you be able to enjoy the best in life? Friends breaking up, going their separate ways does happen in society a lot. There's no real reason to why this is but my guess is that people just grow apart and want new things in life.
