I think Melinda has mixed feelings about Rachel as they were best friends in the past. I don't think she wants to completely give up on her attempt to get that back. I think Melinda feels that Andy used her to get what he wanted and she feels hurt by it. She probably also feels scared because she knows he"s capable of rape and now that he's always around her ex-friend Rachel, she feels scared for her. I think Rachel likes Andy as "arm candy" but she may also be using him to make Melinda and others jealous.
