I think Melinda feels like she is left out a lot, but she is also starting to make an effort to be able to fit in somewhere. I think Heather does like her, but is also using her for her talents so she won't have to do as much work. I think Melinda feels comfortable around David, like she can be herself.

I think Melinda could be friends with David, I think she wants to be friends with David. I think she's trying to hard to become friends with people who don't really want to be friends with her, and that also makes her sad.
